Tarbit orders 2+2

Tarbit has ordered two plus two new chemical/product/biofuels tankers of 13,000 tonnes dwt from Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group in China. The newbuildings will be delivered in early 2022 and will receive dual fuel machinery using LNG or liquid biogas, LBG, as fuel.

As the first shipowner in the world to convert a tanker to LNG fuel in 2011, Tarbits long experience working for a sustainable future, contributes to these vessels being built with the greatest possible focus on reducing the environmental impact.

The design of the vessels are made in close cooperation between Tarbit and Odely, Shanghai, China, and is highlighted on a design with very high safety and a design for the future in tanker business.

The tankers will be built for high performance in worldwide traffic. To meet service, quality, reliability, safety and environmentally friendly distribution trade the vessels are designed with a very special hull form that gives minimum resistance and a very low bunker consumption.

The vessels are equipped with Energopac rudder design including flap and strong bowthruster that gives excellent manoeuvrability and high propulsion efficiency. The technical solutions includes high
redundancy including take me home device.

The vessels will be built to Bureau Veritas class including Ice Class 1A and with a cargo capacity of 15.000 m3.
